This oceanside renovation in Pacific Palisades CA in an unassuming neighborhood presented a design challenge in maintaining the low-key nature of the street while working with the client to contemporize the character of the facade. Major openings and windows are framed in a continuous blue metal plate, bringing a touch of color to tie elements together while referencing Mediterranean residential design. Custom circular pavers were cast and and installed along the driveway to add to a sense of softness, allowing transitions between hardscape and softscape without clear distinction.
